Richard Taylor is the chief executive of the International Hydropower Association (IHA).
He is a graduate in Earth Science/Water Resources, with postgraduate studies in hydropower engineering, renewable energy systems and sustainable development. Since 2002, he has been a Fellow of the Energy Institute (UK).
He has been engaged in United Nations initiatives on water (WWDR and UNEP), energy (UNIDO and UNDESA) and climate change (UNESCO and IPCC). He also has participated in the work of the International Renewable Energy Alliance, REN21, International Energy Agency, World Energy Council, World Water Council, World Bank Group, Climate Investment Funds and Climate Bonds Initiative
