UNIDO and Ministry of Energy of Mexico strengthen cooperation on sustainable energy

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Ministry of Energy of Mexico (SENER, for its acronym in spanish) agreed to expand cooperation and promote Industrial Energy Efficiency to achieve inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID).

In the framework of the Dialogues for the Future of Energy in Mexico (DEMEX), UNIDO´s Director General LI Yong and Mexico´s Deputy Secretary of Energy Planning and Transition Leonardo Beltrán Rodríguez reaffirmed through a “Joint Declaration” their intentions to strengthen this collaboration.

Under this umbrella document, SENER and ONUDI seek to create a general cooperation framework to disseminate best practices for the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency policies in the industrial sector, taking advantage of existing policies and programs in Mexico, as well as the services offered by UNIDO to Member States on these matters.
